Terms
Terms of use for this site.
Short version: read it, quote it, link to it. Client work runs on a separate agreement, and that agreement takes precedence over everything below.

Scope
These terms cover your use of xeniv.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.
Work we carry out for clients is governed by a separate written agreement. Where that agreement and this page differ, the agreement wins.
Use of this site
The site is published for information. You may read it, link to it, and quote it with attribution.
You may not scrape it at a rate that degrades service for others, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, submit the enquiry form by automated means, or present its content as your own.
Enquiries are not an engagement
Submitting the enquiry form does not create a contract, a retainer, or any obligation on either side. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance.
We may decline any enquiry without giving a reason, and frequently do when work falls outside what we can support properly.
Confidentiality of enquiries
We treat the contents of an enquiry as confidential and do not disclose it outside Xen IV. We are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you share anything sensitive — say so in your first message rather than sending the detail.
Please do not send credentials, API keys, or personal data belonging to third parties through the form.
No professional advice
Articles and guidance published here are general and written without knowledge of your systems. They are not advice about your specific situation, and acting on them is at your own risk.
Technical facts age. We date every article and do not silently rewrite them; a technique that was correct when published may not be correct when you read it.
Intellectual property
The Xen IV name, logo, site design and written content belong to us.
You may quote articles for commentary, review or teaching with attribution and a link to the original. Republishing an article in full, or using our name or logo to suggest an endorsement or a working relationship that does not exist, requires our written permission.
Code samples published in articles may be used freely in your own projects, with no warranty of any kind.
Third-party links
We link to external documentation and sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability, or what they do with your data.
Availability
We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, move or withdraw any part of it at any time, including these terms — the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties that are not expressly stated here, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and accuracy.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of this site.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Liability arising from client engagements is dealt with in the relevant engagement agreement, not here.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.
Contact
Questions about these terms should be sent through the contact form.
Questions about an engagement?
Engagement terms are agreed in writing before work starts. Ask and we will send them.
